Musical memories are some of our most vivid, and a series of recent studies show that listening to music engages networks in our brains in areas that control motor actions, emotions and creativity. Armed with such knowledge, eighth-grade students at The Prairie School are helping residents of St. Monica’s Senior Living facility unlock their musical memories through a special project called iPods for Alzheimer’s.
